• Purchase and use according to directions, a full spectrum light proven to decrease Season Affective Disorder (SAD).
Twenty percent of people living in northern climates have low energy and experience depression during winter months. Using
full spectrum light may help relieve symptoms. Full spectrum lights are now available in many stores at a modest cost.
Try to use daily in the early morning for
30-60 minutes with the lamp at eye level.

Are You Experiencing Thinning Hair?
If your hair is thinning in the front, as it does in many women, sometimes changing your hair style with a new cut and a little gel will be all it takes to give you a new look and improve your self confidence.
If that's not enough, consider using Minoxidil. This topical over-the-counter product enhances hair growth and is used by both men and women. Many women show great improvement with daily use. It takes a few months of use to see real hair growth improvement but you may be pleased with the change.
Wigs are another good option, with endless styles, colors and a wide price range from which to choose an entirely new look or one to closely complement your current style. Both synthetic and human hair wigs are available through salons, catalogs and online. This option is one to explore if your self confidence needs a little boost.
And don't forget about scarves and hats. Billed or brimmed hats worn in the outdoor setting protect your scalp and face from harmful sunrays and cover thinning hair. In bright colors, scarves and hats can bump up your confidence and make you look years younger.
Hair transplants are becoming more available, providing women a permanent option to fill in thinning frontal hair. If this is something you are interested in exploring, be sure to consult with a specialized plastic surgeon with extensive experience in micro hair transplant. Micro is the important word. A few hair follicles are tediously transferred from the back of your scalp where hair growth is normal. The implants are placed in sparse areas and just like transplanted flower shoots, the hair implants mature and grow into healthy hair. This hair replacement option will obviously cost more than the previously mentioned choices, but transplants provides a more permanent long-term solution to thinning hair.

You Had Longer Eyelashes?
Latisse is a prescripted eye product women now have available to them through their doctor. Latisse enhances lash growth. It is a clear solution painted at the eyelash edge on the upper lid, using care to avoid getting it in the eye. It works by prolonging the life of the hair, allowing more growth time before a lash naturally falls out. Longer and darker lashes result.
Some blue-eyed women have had a side effect of having their blue iris turn brown.
This is the just the opposite of Alexa Melo's song about "turning his brown eyes blue ..."
Ask your doctor about Latisse.

POOR VISION CAN MAKE APPLYING COSMETICS A REAL CHALLENGE
If you have poor vision, little time and minimal talent for applying make-up, you may want to check your artistic talent in natural light or use a magnifying glass or magnified mirror before going out in public. Even if you are pleased with your results, particles of mascara often drop to your cheeks and under your eyes, or collect along the lid edges. You may even find an unwanted chin hair or a blackhead you hadn’t noticed. Magnification can be scary but it can also be your friend.

• Listen to classical music like Beethoven’s 3rd and 5th sonatas. Recent research has found that classical music elevates moods.
• Don’t isolate yourself. Remain engaged during the dark months. Go out and see a movie or rent funny movies and invite friends over to watch them with you.
• Take a walk. Exercise stimulates natural hormones that make you feel good.
A new medical treatment called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) has been found effective in treating depression. In a clinic setting, small metal coils are attached to the scalp. A magnetic field targets neurons in the prefrontal cortex, a region
of the brain less active in depressed people. The treatment is currently being used in Australia and Canada.
TMS will soon be available in the US. A
recent US study at the University of Pennsylvania showed significant improvement in three hundred people. No major side effects were reported. TMS may also be useful in treating schizophrenia
and bipolar disorders.
